What to Buy for Grandparents’ Day UK
National Grandparents’ Day in the UK has been moved to Sunday October 5th to bring it closer to UK Older People’s Day on 1st October. Last year, thousands of cards and bunches of flowers were given by families to say thanks to the UK’s 13 million grandparents. Age Concern insituted the national day in 1990 to recognise the special role that grandparents have in nurturing children.
Pensions Minister Mike O’Brien said:
On Grandparents’ Day I want people to stop and think about older people especially grandmothers and grandfathers. Think about what they have done for you… Grandparents’ Day is a great chance for us all to show our appreciation.
So what’s the best way to show your appreciation?
